NLB Banka sh.a. recognized with the ‘Most Active Issuing Bank in Kosovo in 2020’ award from the EBRD’s Trade Facilitation Programme

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has awarded NLB Banka sh.a. for outstanding performance in 2020 under the EBRD’s Trade Facilitation Programme (TFP).

An awards ceremony took place on June 30, 2021 during the TFP Information Session on the sidelines of the EBRD’s 30th Annual Meeting, which was held virtually for the first time.

The TFP Information Session was opened by EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso. She said: “I know I am addressing a truly remarkable audience today. You represent the very best of trade finance talent. You drive the international trade that is so vital for global economic growth, prosperity and peace.”

Emphasizing the unprecedented disruptions to international trade caused by the global pandemic, she continued: “I know how hard you have all been working since the pandemic struck and I know we will overcome that crisis too.”

NLB Banka sh.a. is honored to win the ‘Most Active Issuing Bank in Kosovo in 2020’ award from the TFP. The bank has joined the TFP in 2016 and has become an important partner of the EBRD in the region, and for five consecutive years is recognized with the award by the EBRD.

NLB Banka sh.a. being supported by TFP continued to facilitate foreign trade finance activities throughout 2020, despite many challenges faced due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Bank will seek to strengthen its cooperation with the EBRD with the aim of supporting its clients to improve and expand their international trade activities and to launch into new markets, during these challenging times and beyond!

The TFP, running since 1999, aims to promote foreign trade to, from and within the EBRD regions and offers a range of products to facilitate this trade, including guarantees and trade-related cash advances.
